News@www.adoption-net.co.uk Story published on August 16, 2005 Adoption Diary Week 35 Well, we have made our arrangements for the christening, we decided on a christening in the end because I rang the curate who was so, so lovely and friendly and so pleased to hear we had adopted and told us that there is a special ceremonial service for adoption that we could have if we would like to. It is optional but he said it might be nice to consider. I am so pleased because although not particularly religious in terms of attending church regularly I do have faith, was christened myself and went to Sunday school and always wanted my children to do that too and eventually choose themselves in terms of their religion (or of course non-religion). I had thought that with our children not being babies as such and Harry and I attending church very rarely we might not be able to go ahead but the curate put my mind at rest completely. We should also have our court date through any day now so two celebrations to look forward to, it is wonderful to be looking towards both these events which a year ago I would never have thought possible. We also have a meeting soon with our children's two siblings who also recently moved to live with their new parents, I am really looking forward to this as I believe it is so important for Katy and Ben to be able to get to know their sisters better and to feel attached to them, it is sad enough that they are not all living together so it is so vital that they feel part of the same family. Our holiday is coming up soon now and Katy and Ben ask every day if we are "going to be going today"!!!!!!! I am hoping that the weather will be okay, at least dry and would be fantastic to have some sunshine, days out in the rain are not my favourite pastime!!!!! And that is all my news at the moment, keep your fingers crossed we have some sun over the next couple of weeks. Ellen
