Adoption debate in Welsh Assembly

Liberal Democrat health spokeswoman in the Assembly Jenny Randerson was speaking in a debate on regulations for both before and after the adoption process.

There had been major problems in the past, Randerson said, and the processes of providing both information and counseling should be improved.

Labour's Welsh health minister Dr Brian Gibbons agreed, though added that the principle of consent must always be respected. Information should be available only on "children friendly terms," he said.
