Diary of an adopter - week 22

Another quiet couple of weeks. Very frustratingly quiet and we are finding it really difficult to keep positive or to have hope that the situation will change soon and we will become a mum and dad.

I think after being approved you feel on such a high that finally your dreams might come true, but this long, long wait has us wondering how much longer it could be.

I am trying to keep busy at work and at home, but no matter how busy I am adoption is still on my mind all the time. I wake up wondering if today could be the day that we have some good news and go to sleep sad that there has been no change still.

On the positive side I have been to a really interesting workshop where Holly Van Gulden was the speaker. She talked about why children have attachment difficulties and tools and techniques to help to heal children.

It was fascinating to hear all about her life and her experience as an adoptive mum, if you get the chance to go to a workshop where she is speaking then I would definitely try to as she is an absolute inspiration.

Till next time.
