The adopted son of Angelina Jolie has been released from a British hospital.

Maddox Jolie was admitted to the Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool on Tuesday but was released later in the week. The hospital described the injury as 'very minor'.

Ms Jolie, who recently split from her husband Billy Bob Thornton, is starring in the sequel to Tomb Raider in which some scenes are being filmed around Snowdonia and north Wales.

No details were given about the injuries.
