The launch of The Meadows Sure Start scheme will be marked next week by a river trip on the Nottingham Princess.

Carers and parents of children under four living in the city area are invited for a two-hour ride, with refreshments, puppet shows and stories.

The trip will mark the beginning of the project, which aims to give youngsters the best possible start in life in terms of child care, health and education facilities.

The boat leaves Trent Bridge at 9.30am on September 26.
