More than 100,000 London council workers are to take part in a one-day strike next month.

The action, scheduled for 1 October, will involve employees from teaching assistants to parking attendants. The strike action is also likely to cause disruption within children's services.

The unions are demanding a flat rate increase to bring London weighting up to £4,000.
