News@www.adoption-net.co.uk Story published on September 16, 2002 New foster campaign launched A major new campaign to find foster parents for vulnerable children has been launched. Renfrewshire Council is targeting the local area with media and billboard adverts to attract more people to help with the service. Councillor Tommy Williams said: "Children may need fostering for all sorts of reasons but what they all need is to feel reassured, comforted and secure. "I am delighted to launch this campaign because the message we are trying to spread far and wide in Renfrewshire is that if you can provide a caring environment for a frightened or confused child then you are the person we are looking for." Margaret Coia, from Johnstone has been fostering for Renfrewshire Council for more than 30 years. She is currently the carer for three children; she has two sons of her own and has adopted two children. She said: "Fostering is very demanding but very rewarding and I would encourage anyone who likes children to consider it."
