Duchess of York reveals baby desire

Sarah Ferguson has told a national newspaper she is determined to have another baby, and will adopt if she has has to.

Speaking to The Observer Magazine, the Duchess said she would adopt if she couldn't find the right man to be the father.

The Duchess was speaking about her hopes for the future as she visited war-torn Sierra Leone on behalf of her charity, Children in Crisis.

She said: "I'll be the best mum I can. And hopefully, I'll have found another man. If I'm past the age of having another baby I'll adopt.

"Either way I will have another baby. Maybe on my own."

Ms Ferguson set up Children in Crisis, which operates in eight countries, almost 10 years ago.

It has set up an informal schools programme for children whose lives have been struck by poverty and war and local teacher training colleges in Sierra Leone.

The Duchess, who has two daughters, Princess Eugenie, 12, and Beatrice, 14 - with the Duke of York, said that setting up the charity had been a form of therapy.

She added: "Prince Philip said I was pointless. And probably at the time he was right - this is my Priory. It keeps me grounded."
