Cheshire County Council has received national recognition for its easy access foster care drive.

The council has been awarded a "highly commended" placing in a national award ceremony for its interactive CD-Rom and its dedicated fostering and adoption website - both of which were cited as examples of good practice by the Social Services Information Network.

The CD-Rom is sponsored by Cheshire foster carer John Timpson and also featured the music of the band Dario G, who attended the launch of the scheme at County Hall earlier this year.
