A children's charity is hosting 50 kilometre and 30 kilometre fund-raising bicycle rides in the Vale of Belvoir.

The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children is seeking entrants for the 10th annual off-road event, called the Viking Challenge, due to take place on Sunday, October 6.

Julia Stewart, the NSPCC's community appeals manager, said: "For the past four years, the event has attracted over 900 people and it would be marvellous to reach 1,000."
