Youngsters are lent a hand

A brand new service to help young children cope with difficult circumstances has been launched in Tamworth.

Staffordshire Trading Standards has launched a consumer advice line giving customers direct access to free advice and assistance.

Surestart Tamworth has joined together with the Pre-School Learning Alliance to launch a range of resources for professionals working with children in Tamworth, based at the Riverside Toy Library in Belgrave.

Workers from early years education, health, social services and other toy libraries met at Riverside Toy Library for the launch.

The equipment and books have been selected to help young children explore and understand difficult situations, ranging from access visits, bereavement and adoption through to health issues.

The Toy Library, which is based at Hanbury's Farm Community Primary School, Belgrave, with a branch at the FACE Centre, Glascote Heath, is also open to the public and welcomes parents and carers from the Tamworth area.
