United in bid to help

Children in care can now receive extra help with input from a national child-care charity.

Barnardo's will be working with Lincolnshire Social Services to find long-term foster carers for children in care.

"We are dedicated to finding foster homes for children in our care who are looking for long-term placements," said Leila Barron, fostering and adoption development manager at Lincolnshire Social Services.

Couples, single people and cohabiting couples can apply to be long-term foster carers. Applicants do not have to be parents themselves, could be working or unemployed, and do not need to own their own home. Comprehensive training, preparation, support, counselling and advice is offered to foster carers by Barnardo's in addition to services provided by the County Council.
