Gay adoption law to change

The Swedish government has decided that it wants to give homosexual couples the right to adopt children.

Sweden was one of the first countries to recognise gay couples in the same way as heterosexual ones. However at that time they did not give lesbian and gay couples the same adoption rights.

It is reported that the proposals are likely to go through as they have the backing of most political parties.
