Passport leads to truth

A Wolverhampton woman had the shock of her life recently when she applied for a passport. She discovered that she was adopted.

Janet Onions, who had never traveled abroad, needed a copy of her birth certificate in order for her to have a passport.

Some days later she was contacted by the registrar and told her of the family secret.

The adoptive parents of Mrs Onions have both died leaving her confused as to why her adoption was kept a secret.

Mrs Onions, who was an only child, was both excited and devastated by the find.

It is apparent that her birth mum was a waitress called Lillian Irene Mills and her Father a lorry driver named Sydney George Sturgess.
