Childcare in Britain is the highest in Europe

The charity, Daycare Trust, has concluded that the cost of childcare in Britain is the highest in Europe following a research project.

The average cost has risen by 10% over the last 12-months and now stands at an average £6,200 a year.

According to a BBC report there is only one place for every seven children under the age of eight.

Nursery fees vary throughout the country but parents in London pay on average £149.00 per week for a child under two.

The charity is appealing to the Government to make child care more affordable in Britain. They claim that more and more families simply can't afford childcare
