Learning how to cope with Kevin and Perry

Parenting courses dealing with troublesome teenagers are being run in a pioneering project across Wiltshire. The Parenting Support Project has been backed by police, health workers and the criminal justice system.

Help ranges from specialist parenting courses and support groups to production of videos, CD-ROMs and the development of an interactive website.

The courses were piloted in Wiltshire last year and will now be expanded with national funding to deal with those teenagers from hell like the Harry Enfield characters Kevin and Perry.

Project manager David Angelinetta said: "Research shows that while there is a lot of help for parents of younger children, there is a gap when it comes to the teenage years.

"We all know this can be a critical time for families and this project will provide help, support and advice.

"Early findings from the pilot programmes show a strong commitment and positive results"
