News@www.adoption-net.co.uk Story published on December 02, 2002 A cuddly boost to Santa aids toy sack Toys offered by a Belper pensioner as "free to a good home" will be donated to Santa Aid. Brian Hubbard appeared in the Derby Evening Telegraph on Tuesday, November 26 with more than 50 toys that he has to give away. The pensioner has collected the cuddly toys throughout his life and wanted them to go to a good home. He said: "If it brings a smile to a kiddie's face, then it's worth it. I'm really pleased to be donating the toys." Santa Aid, which is a Belper charity, collects toys and gifts to give to children in the Amber Valley area who don't get presents at Christmas. Organiser Jenny Collis said: "We get a list from social services of children who won't be getting anything at Christmas and then we make up parcels for them. "However old the child is, it's horrible to have no presents on Christmas morning." The charity puts collection boxes in supermarkets for donations of toys and gifts. Mr Hubbard's donation will mean that they can help even more children this year. Mrs Collis said: "The service is spreading much further afield than in previous years - we help hundreds of children."
