News@www.adoption-net.co.uk Story published on August 27, 2002 Final plea for birth mother A last appeal is being made for information about a new-born baby found abandoned in a lay-by. Baby Andrew David is about to be placed with adoptive parents - and social services are anxious for information about his family so they will have something to tell him when he grows up. The 7lb 9oz infant was discovered wrapped in a blanket by the side of the A614, near Ollerton, on April 4. Doctors believe he was less than 24 hours old when found by a motorist. His umbilical cord had not been tied. Despite appeals for information and a police investigation, Andrew David's mother has never been traced.
Anyone with information is asked to call Newark social services on 01636 682700.
