The club is to dedicate its fixture against Featherstone Rovers on Sunday, August 18, to the 650 children in care in Hull. Banners highlighting the urgent need for more foster carers will be displayed throughout the club's Craven Park ground. An appeal for people to come forward will be included in the match day programme. Free match tickets have been offered to children and young people in care, and staff from Hull social services fostering team will hand out leaflets and information. The involvement of the city's sporting heroes in the foster care recruitment campaign is the brainchild of Hull children's rights officer Craig Clark. Mr Clark represents the Rights and Participation Project, a partnership between Hull social services, The Warren Young People's Resource Centre and the Save the Children Fund. Hull City and Hull FC are also backing the campaign. Mr Clark said: "This is an excellent way to encourage children's love of sport, and at the same time highlight the need for more foster carers.
