News@www.adoption-net.co.uk Story published on August 7, 2002 Foster families get back to nature Children from foster homes in Tyneside have been treated to a fun day out. Fifty youngsters, looked after by Newcastle social services, enjoyed a trip to Benwell Nature Reserve. The fun day was organized by Newcastle fostering services, which is becoming an annual event following its launch last year. The foster families took part in a range of activities including a nature trail, looking at wildlife and pond dipping to identify creepy crawlies. Organisers use this event to thank families for their help and support throughout the year.
