Adoption targets achieved

Bolton Council is celebrating after they met the new national adoption targets TWO YEARS ahead of schedule.

95% of children are being placed within a year of going into care. The average placement is taking just six-months to set up.

The figures, released in a report from the social services department, also shows that the number of children going into care has risen by 14% over the last year. In addition the report showed that only one in 10 local children went into care outside the borough. The national average is one in four.
