Catt and Perry help launch campaign

Rugby stars have helped to launch a new recruitment campaign to find people prepared to adopt children.

England and Bath stars Mike Catt and Matt Perry joined children from the city's St Andrew's Primary School for a mass helium balloon launch in Royal Victoria Park this week.

The 'Don't Rule Yourself Out' campaign initiated by the South West Adoption Consortium aims to persuade people who think they are not suitable for adopting children to think again.

A spokeswoman for Bath and North East Somerset Council's family placement team said: "We're aware that there are many people out there who think they may not be able to adopt.

"The main message is for people to find out more about adoption before dismissing their chances."
