News@www.adoption-net.co.uk This story published May 26, 2001 Family charity has new home A Plymouth charity which recruits and trains people to provide support for families in crisis has got a new home.
Its work includes counselling for those involved in childhood abuse and support for mothers living apart from their children. The charity also receives the aid of ProHelp, a group of Plymouth professionals, such as solicitors, accountants and bank managers, who provide free advice to local voluntary and community groups. Val Vines, project co-ordinator for Plymouth Family Support Services, said: "We are extremely grateful that ProHelp, in the shape of the Bailey Partnership, has agreed to give us free advice on our new building. We simply do not have funds available to pay for professional expertise." ProHelp manager Andrew Manuel said his group supports community-based, not-for-profit organisations which are working for the social and economic regeneration of the city but are unable to fund the professional help needed.
For further information on how to apply to ProHelp, call Mr Manuel on 01752 781232.
