News@www.adoption-net.co.uk This story published May 23, 2001 Young people tackle homelessness Young people involved in Children's Society's projects across England and Wales have attended an event to look at the needs of of young homeless people. The event in London, in which the young people shared their experiences of homelessness, was designed to help the charity shape its future homelessness projects. It aslo formed part of ongoing research by The Children's Society and the University of Northampton into the charity's work on homelessness. The results of the study will be available in October. Rosie Edwards, head of The Children's Society's homelessness programme said: "Youth homelessness is one of the major reasons for social exclusion. We will only begin to tackle these problems by listening to young people and working with them to find solutions that meet their needs."
