Actress Nicole Kidman is said to have lost a baby that she was expecting.

Her publicist Wendy Day told The Daily Telegraph in Sydney that the Hollywood star had a miscarriage earlier this month.

Kidman, mother of two adopted Isabella, eight, and six-year-old Connor, is believed to have had her miscarriage at a Los Angeles clinic, the newspaper said.

The actress, who separated from husband Tom Cruise earlier this year, has declined comment.

She and Cruise were married for ten years. At the time of the separation they said that no-one else was involved and put the split down to careers which constantly kept them apart.
