Hollywood star Nicole Kidman says she is planning to take some time off from acting to raise her adopted children in Australia.

She has told Australian magazine Women's Day that she doesn't want to work for the rest of the year.

"I'd like to just spend time with my family and not think about work, and not think about anything else other than taking care of myself and my family," she said.

She added: "I want to have two kids who grow up and say 'I'm happy, I'm healthy, and I love you, Mum.'

The actress, who split from Tom Cruise earlier this year, is currently filming The Hours in the UK and is expected to return next month to Sydney where her children eight-year-old Isabella and six-year-old Connor, have reportedly been staying with a nanny.
