News@www.adoption-net.co.uk This story published June 16, 2001 Clubbing teens to be put in care Chinese social services in Hong Kong are threatening to remove teenagers from their families and put them in children's home if they are caught clubbing. In a move to cut drug abuse among youngsters and following a recent round-up of about 100 teenagers under the age of 17, police say young people caught partying three times could be taken from their parents. Police told South China Morning Post that they were seeking a court order to send one 17-year-old to a children's home after he had been caught in two discos in the past fortnight. One officer said: "We will apply to the court for a care and protection order for extra supervision for him." © adoption-net.co.uk 2000 This site has been designed with few graphics to make it quick to load and simple to navigate. |
