News@www.adoption-net.co.uk This story published June 13, 2001 100,000 toddle for charity Thousands of youngsters up and down the UK are this month taking part in a series of sponsored toddles to raise money for Barnardo's. The patter of more than 100,000 pairs of tiny feet will be heard throughout the country as the UK's toddler population aims to raise £500,000 for the children's charity's in a series of a half mile sponsored walks in parks and zoos across the UK. Barnardo's Big Toddle, launched last month by TV presenter and mum Fiona Phillips, is now in its fifth year. It also forms a central part of Barnardo's fun'raising fortnight. The event is being sponsored by The Foresters, a financial services organisation, which gives large-scale support to charitable and community causes and is Barnardo's largest corporate sponsor. Barnardo's works with more than 50,000 children, young people and their families in more than 300 projects, including adoption and fostering schemes, across the country.
