Tiger Lily's treat

Sitting on the shoulders of the man she calls Dad, Tiger Lily Hutchence was having the time of her young life as she enjoyed her fifth birthday.

Tiger waved to Mickey Mouse and other characters on parade as she spent a sunny Sunday at Disneyland, Paris with Bob Geldof and her half sisters.

The orphan was adopted by Geldof following the death of her mother Paula Yates from a drug overdose last year.

She now lives with the Live Aid organiser, his girlfriend Jeanne Marine and his daughters Fifi, 18, Peaches, 12, and Pixie, ten.

While she is comfortable calling Geldof 'Dad', Tiger refers to her father Michael Hutchence, who hanged himself in a Sydney hotel room in 1997, as 'Real Dad'

Geldof, who hours before the family trip had been discussing Third World dept and the Aids crisis with World leaders at the G8 summit in Genoa, was determined to make Tigers first birthday without her mother a memorable occasion.

The little girl had found the body of her mother at their home in Notting Hill, West London, after she overdosed on heroin in September last year.

Immediately afterwards, Tiger went to live with Geldof and her half sisters and in December he was granted custody by the High Court.

In an interview earlier this year, Geldof said it was entirely natural that Tiger should become part of his family.

'Really, what decision was there to make?' he said. 'I just don't get it. Tiger's their sister. The girls adore her. 'Before she came to us, I would always see her round at Paula's. 'Here's this little sprog without a Mum or Dad. You gather her up and bring her home to her family. Where else would she be?

Geldof, whose wife walked out on him in 1995 after an affair with Hutchence, described Tiger as 'absolutely adorable' He added: 'She is so beautiful, completely cute and already a seriously good dancer.

'She's not just funny in the little things she says, she has a real sense of humour and she knows it.'
