News@www.adoption-net.co.uk This story published July 20, 2001 We're determined to adopt again The couple from north Wales who paid an internet baby broker over £8,000 for American twins have said they are even more determined to adopt again. Since the scandal surrounding Belinda and Kimberley, who have since been returned to the United States, Solicitor Alan Kilshaw said it had not deterred them in their quest for a baby daughter. Speaking on the BBC Radio 4's On The Ropes programme, Mr Kilshaw, 46, from Buckley, Flintshire, said: "In a way this has made me even more determined to do it a second time." Mr Kilshaw's wife Judith, 47 - who has two grown-up daughters from a previous relationship and was once described as "Britains most hated woman" - said she "still maintained" she had two baby girls. "The heart says I have two daughter's but the law says I haven't," she told BBC Presenter John Humphrys. Mr Kilshaw said his desire for a daughter stemmed from the fact that he was an only child who always wanted a sister of a similar age. He said he thought "it would be nice" for their young sons Rupert and James to grow up with a sister. Book Plans The couple said there were now plans to write a book about their experience. "We are meeting someone this week," said Mrs Kilshaw. "The reason for this is not to make money. It's to put the record straight. The press have virtually destroyed me and my family." "Now it's payback time. Now I will get my own back on each and every one of them. I'm sorry but they are going to have to pay for what they have done to my family," she said. Twins Belinda and Kimberley were taken into the care of Flintshire Social Services in January this year. The Kilshaws lost a High Court battle to keep the girls, who are now one-year-old, and they were returned to the United States in April. Story filed: Tuesday 10th July 2001
