Oldham's foster carers have received a well deserved pat on the back at the council's annual "thank you" event.

Oldham has about 130 short and long-term foster carers on its books. The event included presentations to people who have fostered for over 15 years and to carers who have successfully completed their NVQ qualifications in fostering.

Executive Director for Social Services Gwylfa Evans who will make the presentations said: "I am extremely impressed by the tremendous work that our foster carers do and they deserve this recognition.

"I would like to congratulate everyone who is involved in our foster care scheme for making it a success."
