Plea for more foster carers
by www.adoption-net.co.uk staff

Appeals are being made for foster carers in Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells by the Kent County Council.

Foster carers are needed for children to provide breaks at weekends and in school holidays or give a family base for those with disabilities.

Professional supervision and training is given to support carers, as well as support group meetings. An NVQ qualification can also be gained.

Chairman of Kent social services Kate Ferrin said: "We are looking for people who have plenty of time to devote to children and who are willing to work with the child's family and other professionals with the aim that the child will return home if that is possible."

A fee is paid to carers for their work in addition to maintenance money for the children.
