Thankyou for foster couple
by www.adoption-net.co.uk staff

A foster couple have received an official thankyou from their council for more than 14 years of service to nearly 100 children.

Members of West Dunbartonshire Council social work committee presented the couple, Bob Algar and Lily Rogers, with a bouquet in recognition of their work.

The couple from Ladyton in Alexandria, are retiring from fostering, after looking after 98 children, ranging from babies just days old to teenagers.

They have also adopted two girls, aged seven and nine, from the children they have fostered and now want to devote more time to them and their growing wider family responsibilities.

Social work convener John Trainer said: "The couple show the extraordinary contribution ordinary people can make by becoming foster carers."
