It is quite likely that adoption agencies will opt for candidates who are free from any health problems.

Successful candidates may well have to be married and agencies are more likely to have age restrictions for adopting a baby. Some adoption agencies may stipulate that you must have had fertility tests.

Because of the lengthy wait, many people if they only want to adopt a very young child, look to overseas adoption agencies.
